Bengaluru Stampede: The Karnataka High Court granted Nikhil Sosale, marketing head of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), interim bail on Thursday in connection with the catastrophic stampede at Chinnaswamy Stadium on June 4.
As a condition of relief, the court ordered Sosale to hand over his passport.
Following the filing of an FIR naming RCB, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), and event management company DNA Entertainment Networks, Sosale sought anticipatory bail and protection from coercive action in court.
In accordance with the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita's requirements, the FIR charged the accused with carelessness and public endangerment after the tragic event that killed eleven people and wounded several others.

The rush happened amid a public celebration for RCB's historic first IPL title win.
The incident, which took place at the famous M Chinnaswamy Stadium, had an unforeseenly large turnout that overwhelmed crowd control measures and caused mayhem.
Inadequate barricading and delayed medical help were mentioned in several eyewitness reports, which raised concerns regarding event readiness.
