Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow over the incident. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, “The mishap in Bengaluru is absolutely heartrending. In this tragic hour, my thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that those who are injured have a speedy recovery.”

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also shared his condolences. In a social media post, he said, “It is with great shock that we heard the news that several people lost their lives and others were seriously injured in a stampede during the RCB team’s victory celebrations. The pain of this tragedy has erased the joy of victory.” He extended his sympathies to the grieving families and wished for the speedy recovery of those in hospitals.

The chief minister mentioned that the team had not been permitted to carry out a victory parade due to concerns over potential crowd control issues. Despite these precautions, the stampede occurred outside the stadium as fans gathered in large numbers.
