A 29-year-old techie from Bengaluru killed herself after she drowned her 11-month-old child in a bucket of water at their house. The horrific incident occurred on Wednesday, when the woman, identified as Pratibha, was at her house with her child.
Her husband, Mahantesh, was at the office at that time. After some time, the software engineer went to the terrace to collect dry clothes. The child crawled into the washing area and fell into the bucket filled with water.
When Pratibha came downstairs, she found her child lying dead inside the bucket. Unable to take the grief, Pratibha slit her wrist, consumed a few pills, and then hanged herself to death, the police revealed.
In the evening, at around 6:30 pm, Pratibha's husband, Mahantesh, returned home, and he found the doors locked from the inside. Upon opening the spare key, he entered the house and found his wife and child dead.

The police found a death note, which read that she's responsible for her child's death. In the letter, she also mentioned that the unexpected incident occurred when she went to the terrace to collect the dried clothes.
The note mentioned that the woman first attempted to die by suicide by consuming tablets and slitting her wrists but eventually resorted to hanging.
A case has been filed, and further investigation is underway, cops said.

Police said that the family had been living in the rented flat for the past four years.
In a separate incident, Bhanu Chander Reddy Kunta (32), a software engineer from the Siddipet district in Telangana, allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself inside a room of their apartment on Monday. Shortly after discovering her husband's body, Shaziya allegedly jumped from the 17th floor of the same residential complex, leading to her death.
Police have registered two separate cases of unnatural deaths based on the complaint by a family member of the couple in Telangana.
