Bengaluru To Kerala Train: Train operations to and from Bengaluru will see significant changes for over five months as the South Western Railway begins engineering works at the KSR Bengaluru yard. The suspension of Pit Line-3 and Stabling Line-5 will be in effect from August 15, 2025 to January 15, 2026.
Due to this, some services connecting Kerala and Bengaluru will end their journeys at different terminals instead of KSR station.
-The Ernakulam Junction–KSR Bengaluru Intercity Superfast Express (Train No. 12678) will take a diverted route via Karmelaram and Baiyyappanahalli and terminate at Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) Bengaluru. It will not stop at Bengaluru Cantonment or KSR stations during this period.
-Similarly, the Kannur–KSR Bengaluru Express (Train No. 16512) will be rerouted through Yasvantpur, Hebbal, and Banaswadi before ending at SMVT Bengaluru, skipping the KSR halt.
-In the return direction, the KSR Bengaluru–Ernakulam Intercity Superfast Express (Train No. 12677) will start from SMVT Bengaluru at 6:10 am. The KSR Bengaluru–Kannur Express (Train No. 16511) will also originate from SMVT Bengaluru at 7:45 am. Both services will bypass Bengaluru Cantonment and KSR stations.
The South Western Railway has advised passengers to check revised schedules and boarding points before travel.
