Bengaluru Traffic Alert: In the wake of relentless rainfall over the past 48 hours, Bengaluru authorities have issued a traffic advisory, warning commuters to steer clear of several flood-hit routes. Continuous downpours have led to severe waterlogging and traffic disruptions across the city, prompting restrictions on key roads to ensure public safety.

Several areas, especially low-lying localities like Horamavu, have been badly affected. The flooding has not only brought traffic to a standstill but also impacted daily life, with residents struggling to navigate through submerged roads and flooded homes.

Traffic Restrictions: Roads to Avoid in Bengaluru

The Bengaluru Traffic Police has listed several roads where movement is restricted due to water stagnation. Commuters are advised to avoid the following routes:

- Kogilu Village towards Yelahanka

- Silk Board down ramp, Roopena Agrahara

- Medahalli towards Sannenahalli

- Panatturu towards Kadubeesanahalli

- Geddalahalli railway bridge towards Vaddarapalya

- Tin Factory towards Vijinapura railway underpass

- HBR Layout 17th Main towards 18th Main

- Wipro Junction (Koramangala) to Maharaja Junction

- Bhashyam Circle towards Cauvery Junction

- Allasandra towards Yelahanka Circle

- Kasturi Nagar 2nd Main Road towards Sadananda Bridge

- CB Road towards ASC Centre

- R.M. Nagar towards Chikka Banaswadi

Drivers have been urged to exercise extreme caution while travelling, as many roads remain waterlogged or completely inaccessible.

Heavy Rains Disrupt Life in Bengaluru

The city has been reeling under the impact of heavy rainfall since Sunday. Residential areas, particularly Horamavu, witnessed severe flooding, with water gushing into ground-floor homes and damaging furniture and appliances. Rescue teams had to deploy boats to reach stranded residents in some of the worst-hit zones on Monday morning.

Normal life came to a standstill, with public transport services delayed and several commuters left stranded. The flood situation has also raised health and safety concerns, as continuous rainfall continues to lash the city.

IMD Forecasts More Rain In Bengaluru

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), more heavy rainfall is expected across South Interior Karnataka, including Bengaluru. Other states likely to experience intense rain today include Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Telangana, south Madhya Maharashtra, West Bengal, Sikkim, and Bihar.
