Bengaluru Traffic Live Updates: Bengaluru's traffic congestion has been a major concern for the administration for past several years. The government, on numerous occasions, has assured that several ongoing projects are likely to resolve the issue in the upcoming months. Earlier last week, the vehicular movement in several key areas got affected due to the heavy rain. While sharing videos of broken roads and traffic congestion, the residents pointed out the poor infrastructure of the city, further asking where their tax money was being invested. The traffic police have urged the commuters to take alternative routes to avoid any inconvenience as BMRCL is set to begin metro construction work in the regions around Outer Ring Road.
According to the TomTom Traffic Index 2023, Bengaluru ranks among the worst cities in Asia for traffic delays. Commuters spend more than 28 minutes to travel 10 kilometres, leading to an estimated 132 additional hours lost annually during rush hour.
Despite several efforts by local authorities to improve the situation, road movement remains sluggish, especially during weekdays. Office traffic, ongoing construction, unpredictable weather, and infrastructure works frequently worsen the condition.
