Pre-monsoon rains in Bengaluru have rapidly intensified and caused significant disruptions around the city since Wednesday evening. The Bengaluru traffic police have issued an advisory for commuters from Nagavara towards Elements Mall, as traffic snarls are reported from the area due to waterlogging.,

While there are a lot of traffic snarls reported in the city today, Bengaluru's Namma Metro has sparked a social media debate following a video comparing the occupancies of a women-only coach with a general car. The 12-second video, shared on X, shows an empty Ladies carriage guarded and separated from one packed with straphangers of both genders.

Bengaluru Police have issued traffic diversions in view of the Brahmarathotsava festival at Sri Nagalingeshwara Temple in Begur on April 16. With over 15,000 devotees expected, roads near Begur Temple are likely to face heavy congestion.

Traffic will be restricted on key stretches including PK Kalyana Mantapa to Ekana Hospital, Falcon Market to the temple and DLF Junction to Begur Lake. Alternative routes have been arranged via Devarachikkanahalli, Nyanappanahalli, Elenahalli and Mylasandra. Commuters are advised to follow the revised routes and avoid Begur Road during peak hours to ensure smoother traffic movement during the temple event.

Bengaluru is set for a sunny day on April 16, with a high of 34.3 degrees Celsius and a low of 24 degrees Celsius. Clear skies, low rainfall (0.03mm), 41 per cent humidity and gentle winds of 16.9 km/h offer pleasant conditions for outdoor plans.
