Bengaluru Weather: As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Karnataka is expected to witness extreme weather conditions in the coming months. The state will face both intense heat and above-normal rainfall between March and May. Southern Karnataka, including Bengaluru, is likely to receive excess pre-monsoon showers, while northern regions, particularly Kalyana-Karnataka, could endure severe heatwave conditions lasting two to four days.

IMD Explains

As per IMD forecast, Bengaluru and other interior districts will receive 30-40 per cent more pre-monsoon rainfall between March and May, according to a TOI report.

"While coastal Karnataka and Malnad are likely to witness 50-60% excess summer showers, the interior districts such as Bengaluru are expected to get about 30-40 per cent excess pre-monsoon showers. Due to these showers, temperatures across south-interior Karnataka will be relatively normal, even though it may appear to be hot during daytime," IMD was quoted as saying by a TOI report.
