Bengaluru Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast cloudy skies for Bengaluru over the next two days with no further rain. This comes after the garden city witnessed a heavy spell of rainfall of 11.8 mm on Saturday, 6 mm above normal and the sixth highest for the month in two decades. The rain also caused a nearly one-degree drop in maximum temperature which was recorded at 33.4 degree Celsius, and a nearly two-degree dip in minimum temperature to 19.5 degree Celsius.

As per IMD, the forecast for Bengaluru over the next 48 hours includes a “partly cloudy sky” with maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be around 32 degree Celsius and 22 degree Celsius, respectively.

According to the weather body’s data, some areas in Bengaluru city experienced heavy rain and strong winds on Saturday night, uprooting trees. A three-year-old girl was crushed to death by a tree trunk which snapped and fell on the bike she was travelling with her father near Devarajeevanahalli Park in East Bengaluru.

Kalaburagi Registers Highest Maximum Temperature

The Kalaburagi region in North Karnataka recorded the highest maximum temperature of 38.2 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours while Belagavi airport recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 17.8 degree Celsius.

According to IMD, “normal to below normal by 1mm/day over Coastal and North Interior Karnataka and above normal (1- 7 mm/day) over South Interior Karnataka” of rain is expected in the current week.
