Bengaluru Weather: Overnight heavy rainfall in Bengaluru caused severe waterlogging in several low-lying areas, disrupting normal life on Tuesday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also forecast more showers ahead. The city witnessed three days of continuous rain causing massive traffic snarls. Following incessant heavy rain, residents of an Apartment in Yelahanka in Bengaluru were rescued using boats.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured that the state government will provide compensation for losses caused by natural calamities resulting from the rainfall in the state.
“We are monitoring rain-related disasters and making all necessary preparations. A site survey is also underway,” he .

Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda also inspected the flood-affected Tatanagar Badrappa Layout area.

On Monday night, at least 20 flights were delayed, and several were diverted due to the severe weather. Heavy rain and thunderstorms primarily affected the northern parts of the city. An Air India flight from Delhi and four Indigo flights were diverted to Chennai, Hindustan Times reported citing the airport sources.
Bengaluru Schools Shut
In view of the downpour, the Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner Jagadish G has ordered the closure of schools and Anganwadi centres on Monday. This is the second time within a week that schools were being shut owing to rains in Bengaluru.
The decision was made as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and staff amid the ongoing weather conditions.
