Bengaluru Traffic Advisory: Bengaluru is reeling under severe rainfall, with incessant downpour causing traffic snarls across the city. Several areas have been flooded, which has disrupted the movement of traffic. Amid several hardships that people face, the Hosur Road was also closed for a brief period.
This stretch connects Silk Board Junction with Rupena Agrahara and was inundated. It was later opened for vehicular movement.

The elevated flyover was also closed in the area and people were advised to take an alternate route.
“Due to heavy waterlogging, Hosur Road is temporarily closed between Silkboard and Rupena Agrahara. The elevated flyover is also closed. Commuters are advised to use an alternate road. Commuters are advised to avoid Hosur Road completely,” the advisory read.
The situation in Bengaluru is being actively monitored by the authorities and people have been advised to stay cautious and follow the real-time updates.
As many as three people have died in rain-related incidents, ANI reported. Parts of Bengaluru, including Udupi, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru South, received above 100 mm of rainfall over the past two days, according to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said Bengaluru recorded more than expected rainfall, adding that a person died in a wall collapse incident. He said the victim’s family, who died in rain-related incidents, will be provided with a compensation of Rs 5 lakh. CM Siddaramaiah also said he will inspect rain-affected areas with Deputy CM Shivkumar on May 21.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert as heavy rain is expected across Karnataka in the next two days.
