Bengaluru Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday stated that multiple districts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall in the upcoming few days. The weather department stated that the rains will provide relief to the residents by reducing the temperature by two to three degrees Celsius. The IMD stated that while the rain will reduce temperature till May 12, temperature is expected to rise significantly after that.
The weather department stated that while the maximum temperature is likely to be recorded at 33 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 22 degrees Celsius. The weather department stated that while the capital city of Karnataka is set to experience light rain from May 10, the coastal areas are set to witness thunderstorms, storm and lightning.

It stated that multiple districts, including Kolar, Ramanagara, Chikkaballapur, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Hassan, Tumkur, Davangere, Shivamogga, Bellary, Chitradurga, and Mandya are set to receive light to heavy rains in the upcoming days.
It further advised the residents of the coastal regions to follow the guidelines and limit their outing to avoid any inconveniences. "Scattered thundershowers and lightning are likely across the state, with scattered showers and moderate rains in coastal and Malnad districts, and scattered moderate rains in North Interior and South Interior districts from May 10 & May 12," Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) stated in a post on X.
The weather department stated that while the rainfall is likely to reduce temperature, it is likely to lead to issues like waterlogging and traffic congestion in several key areas. Apart from Karnataka, several other states, including Telangana, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, are likely to receive rainfall in the upcoming few days. Several northern states are also likely to receive rainfall for the next few days.
