The Bengaluru-Kochi Vande Bharat service is the third train service in Kerala after the Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod and Thiruvananthapuram-Mangaluru routes.
The new Vande Bharat route has been hailed by the BJP state President Rajeev Chandrasekhar, who said, as quoted by the Deccan Herald, “The new Vande Bharat express will provide relief to the thousands of Malayalis who are employed in the IT Sector in Bengaluru.”

On a separate route, a Vande Bharat Express is scheduled to begin operations on the Pune-Nanded route by the end of 2025. Covering 550 km in just 7 hours, the semi-high-speed train will significantly reduce travel time and improve connectivity between Marathwada and western Maharashtra.
Once operational, the Vande Bharat train will not only improve connectivity but also boost socio-economic development. The official timetable and inauguration date are expected to be announced soon.
