Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Sunday supported the demolition of the convention center co-owned by actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, stating that the action taken by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency is in line with the teachings of Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita.

Speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony of the Hare Krishna Heritage Tower, Reddy also stressed that his government will not tolerate any encroachments on lakes, regardless of the individual's influence.

"Inspired by the Bhagavad Gita, we are determined to demolish illegal structures erected in Full Tank Level (FTL) areas by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA)," Revanth Reddy said, emphasising the government's firm stance on enforcing regulations within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) limits.

In his speech, the Congress leader stated that he would adhere to Lord Krishna's teachings, which advocate following Dharma to overcome Adharma for the greater good of the people.

"There is immense pressure from influential individuals who own these properties, but this is about protecting our future. As Lord Krishna taught, Dharma must prevail, and Adharma must be defeated," he asserted.

The Chief Minister's warning to encroachers followed the ongoing demolition drive by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Authority (HYDRA).

Vows to Remove All Encroachments on Lakes in Hyderabad

Reddy highlighted that Nizam had developed Hyderabad as a lake city centuries ago. He expressed concern over the construction of luxury farmhouses near lakes and ponds that historically provided water for millions of people.

"The government has undertaken this initiative to ensure better lives for future generations. We will not yield to pressure and will take strict action against encroachers," he said. The Chief Minister also warned that if natural assets were destroyed, the human population would face the consequences of nature's fury.
