Bharat Bandh Today: Several farmers' unions and trade unions of the country have called for a 'Bharat Bandh' today (February 16) in support of the ongoing 'Delhi Chalo' protest march by farmers, who are advancing from Punjab to Delhi in large numbers, to press for their demands, including the one on a nationwide law on minimum support price (MSP) for their crops. In view of the nationwide strike, the administration of Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar has imposed Section 144 of the CrPC in the district.

The GB Nagar Traffic Police has issued an advisory in light of the strike, which will be in effect from 6 am to 4 pm today. In its advisory, GB Nagar traffic police has urged commuters going towards Delhi to use metro rail services "as much as possible". The nationwide strike has been called by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha, an umbrella group of 37 farmers' unions.

Noida, Greater Noida Traffic Advisory

The GB Nagar Traffic Police has said in its traffic advisory for the day of 'Bharat Bandh' (February 16): "People going to Delhi please use metros as much as possible to avoid traffic inconvenience. Arrival of all types of goods vehicles will be restricted on the route from Yamuna Expressway to Delhi via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and from Sirsa to Surajpur via Parichowk."

1- Vehicles going from 130 meter road towards Pari Chowk via Depot Roundabout will be able to reach their destination via Supertech Roundabout, Honda CL Chowk via P-03 Roundabout, IFS Villa Roundabout.

2- Vehicles going from Surajpur towards Parichowk will be able to reach their destination from Expomart roundabout via Knowledge Park from LG roundabout.

3- Vehicles going via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway via Parichowk will be able to reach their destination via Knowledge Park/Expomart roundabout via Hindon Cut/Galgotia Cut.

4- Vehicles going from Kasna via Parichowk towards Surajpur will be able to reach their destination via 130 meter road via Supertech roundabout from Honda CL Chowk.

5 – Vehicles going from Chilla Border to Delhi will be able to reach their destination via Sector 14 flyover via Golchakkar Chowk, Sector 15, Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk, Jhundpura Chowk.

6 – Vehicles going from DND border to Delhi will be able to reach their destination using the elevated via Filmcity flyover, Sector 18.

7- Vehicles going from Kalindi border to Delhi will be able to reach their destination via Mahamaya flyover via Sector 37.

8- Traffic going to Delhi using Yamuna Expressway will be able to get down from Jewar Toll towards Khurja and reach the destination via Jahangirpur.

9- The traffic going to Delhi via Sirsa, Parichowk after getting off the Peripheral Expressway will be able to go to the destination via Dadri, Dasna instead of getting down at Sirsa.

Delhi Traffic Situation

In Delhi, prohibitory orders under Section 144 were already in place. The national capital's borders with neighbouring states have seen traffic snarls due to fortification in view of protesting farmers' 'Delhi Chalo' march. Traffic has been adversely affected on Delhi's Singhu, Tikri, and Ghazipur borders.
