Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi was on Sunday mobbed by a large crowd whose members were carrying posters that had "Rahul Gandhi go back" and "Anyay Yatra" written on them during the Congress party's 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' in Ambagan area of Assam's Nagaon area on Sunday.

The incident took place during the evening hours. In a video of the incident published by news agency ANI, Rahul Gandhi can be seen being escorted out to safety by security personnel as the crowd raises unintelligible chants.

Earlier in the day, veteran Congress leader Jairam Ramesh alleged alleged that his vehicle was attacked by BJP workers in Assam's Jumugurihat during 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra'. Accusing Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of orchestrating the alleged attack, Ramesh claimed that he maintained his composure and waved to the "hooligans", who he claimed were part of an "unruly BJP crowd".

Notably, Rahul Gandhi was mobbed hours after he alleged that several BJP workers had blocked the Congress procession's convoy earlier in the day. He stated, "20-25 BJP workers carrying sticks came in front of our bus, and when I came out of the bus, they ran away. They think that Congress is scared of the BJP and RSS. They are dreaming. They can tear as many posters and placards as they want. We don't care. We are not scared of anyone. We are neither scared of PM Narendra Modi nor Assam CM."
