Bharat Taxi: Commuters in Delhi now have a new option for dependable transportation, as Bharat Taxi, a new ride-hailing app, has officially begun its pilot operation in the national capital on Tuesday. The service, supported by eight top cooperative organisations, aims to rival established players like Ola, Uber, and Rapido by offering reliable transportation options.
Speaking to PTI, Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Ltd Chairman Jayen Mehta said, “Bharat Taxi has been launched in Delhi with more than 51,000 drivers registered on the app.”

Bharat Taxi Begins Pilot Operation: Check Details
In the pilot phase, Bharat Taxi has garnered significant momentum, with more than 51,000 drivers registered across multiple segments, including cars, auto-rickshaws, and bikes. The ride-hailing service is operated by the Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Ltd, a multi-state cooperative society officially registered under the MSCS Act 2002 on June 6, 2025.
The promoters of the Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Ltd are Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (Amul), IFFCO, KRIBHCO, NAFED, NDDB, NCEL, NCDC and NABARD. There are two driver representatives elected on the board, news agency PTI reported.
Bharat Taxi: Key Features
Bharat Taxi, a ride-hailing app, is built to enhance the passenger experience and benefit lakhs of drivers across the country. Key features of the app include:

The app is designed on a zero commission model, which ensures drivers retain full earnings from every completed ride. Additionally, any profit generated by the cooperative society will be distributed directly to registered drivers, the PTI report added.
The Bharat Taxi aims to simplify travel by integrating with existing transit services, such as Metro rail. This allows users to seamlessly book and complete multi-modal journeys using a single app for maximum convenience. A strategic tie-up with the Delhi Police ensures the safety of riders and drivers. Speaking in the Parliament, the Union Ministry on Tuesday said that the app aims to free the country's commercial vehicle drivers from dependency on private ride-hailing companies.
