Weather Report Today: India is currently experiencing dual weather conditions, with a severe cold wave gripping the North while the South reels from the impact of a weakening Cyclone Ditwah. A severe cold wave has intensified across North India, where minimum temperatures have sharply plummeted, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a cold wave warning for today for Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and north Madhya Maharashtra, with the chill expected to extend to north Rajasthan in the coming days.

Meanwhile, snowfall has begun in the mountainous regions, with temperatures dropping below freezing point in several parts of Kashmir. In the South, the Cyclone Ditwah, now a deep depression, is centred near the North Tamil Nadu-Puducherry and South Andhra Pradesh coasts, triggering heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in Chennai and other coastal Tamil Nadu districts and prompting school closures in several districts.
