A man allegedly killed his three-year-old niece in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal on Sunday. Police said that the accused, who allegedly slit the throat of the toddler, was dealing with depression due to unemployment. Police arrested the accused and an investigation into the case is underway.
The incident reportedly took place when the victim's family taunted the man and urged him to find a job. The accused, Faraz, who holds a BSc degree, felt humiliated over the comments of family members and slit the throat of his niece while she was playing at home.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP, Zone 1) Priyanka Shukla stated that the Jahangirabad police received information last night about the murder of a three-year-old girl. Upon promptly reaching the scene, the police found that the child's maternal uncle, Faraz, had killed her by slitting her throat with a knife.
Police have registered an FIR against the accused under Sections 103(1) (Punishment for murder), 296 (Obscene acts and songs), and 353(1) (Criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sahita (BNS) and taken him into custody.
