- Patna police filed 24 FIRs, arrested 258 protesters.

Jagran Correspondent, Patna: Following violence during the Bihar Bandh in Patna on July 22 and 25, the police have initiated legal action. In this rapid crackdown, a total of 24 FIRs have been registered so far at the Kotwali, Gandhi Maidan, Patliputra, and Secretariat police stations. A total of 258 accused have been arrested.
30 Girls Were Released After Filling Personal Bonds
According to reports, the Gandhi Maidan police station arrested the largest number of protesters, at around 138. Meanwhile, the Kotwali police station arrested 49 people. 30 girls who were taken into custody were later released after making them fill personal bonds.
The police have tightened their legal grip on the violent protest. 285 people have been named as accused in the FIRs filed, while cases have also been filed against approximately 6,000 unidentified rioters.
Police are currently working to identify the unidentified protesters based on video footage and other evidence, raising the possibility of more arrests in the coming days.

43 Policemen Were Injured
Violent clashes and lathicharges during the protests resulted in numerous injuries. A total of 43 police officers, including the Inspector General of Police, station house officers, sub-inspectors, and constables, were injured.
On the other hand, more than 300 students participating in the protest were also injured. Of these, around 60 students suffered serious injuries. During the stampede and lathi charge, several students suffered serious head injuries, while others reportedly suffered broken limbs.
Damage To Public, Police Vehicles
The violent protests also caused significant property damage in key areas of the city. A total of 11 police and public vehicles were damaged during the violence by protesters in the Gandhi Maidan and Kotwali police station areas. SSP Kartikeya Sharma stated that the situation is completely normal.
