The devotees who were near the Namami Gange Ghat at the time of the incident, quickly dispersed. Meanwhile, all the employees and officers associated with the bridge construction company SP Singla fled from their place.

On April 30, 2022, 54 segments installed on pillar number 5 and 6 fell due to strong winds. At that time, teams from IIT Roorkee, Mumbai and Kharagpur had come and inspected the construction material. Officials say that all three teams had assured in their report that the quality of the construction material is of the right standard, following which the construction work was carried forward.

After this, on May 4, 2023, pillar number 9 to 12 along with the cable strength got submerged in the Ganga, the investigation of which is still underway. Patna High Court has directed that the steel bridge between pillar number 9 to 13 will be constructed by SP Singla at his own expense.
