Bihar: Flood Crisis Deepens In Patna, Bhagalpur, Other Districts Amid Rain Alert; Check IMD Forecast

Bihar Flood Alert: At least 13 districts of Bihar, including Patna and Muzaffarpur, continue to face the flood-like situation amid a significant surge in the water levels. As per the administration, the water level has surged in rivers like the Ganga, Kosi, and Bagmati rivers, leading to the situation. Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has directed the administration to take necessary steps to ensure safety for the residents of these regions.

Flood Alert In Multiple Regions

The officials, while providing details, stated that several districts, such as Bhagalpur, Munger, Khagaria, Lakhisarai, and Patna, are among the worst affected regions. They further stated that while several villages have been isolated due to the flood waters, the farmers have also suffered massive loss in the past weeks.

The administration stated that several relief camps have been established to assist the flood-affected residents. It further stated that thousands have already been shifted to these camps, adding that necessary items, including food packets, are being delivered to the affected citizens.

Relief Camps Established

Earlier on Monday, CM Choudhary visited several such camps and met with the affected residents. In a post on X, the chief minister assured that necessary steps are being taken to minimize the loss. "Visited the flood-affected areas of Vaishali and Saran and inspected the relief camps in Hajipur and Sonpur. Interacted with the people in the relief camp to assess the arrangements, personally served food, and also ate with them," he stated.

"Disaster victims were also given assistance amounts, and affected farmers will be provided appropriate compensation for crop damage. No shortcomings will be allowed in the safety of the general public and relief efforts," the chief minister added.

Heavy Rain Likely In Northern Districts 

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several northern districts are likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall in the coming days. The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
