JE News Desk: A portion of a temporary bridge built on river Ganga in Bihar's Vaishali washed away due to strong winds, news agency ANI reported on Wednesday. The Pipa Bridge was situated in Raghupur in the Vaishali district of Bihar. It connected Raghopur to the Vaishali District Headquarters.

A Look At The Recent Bridge Collapse Incident In Bihar 

On June 24: A portion of the 100-meter under-construction bridge collapsed at Gorichak in Bihar’s Kishanganj. The bridge was constructed on the Mechi River near Gori village on NH 327E connecting Katihar and Kishanganj districts.

After the district administration learnt about the incident, they came into action and stopped the movement on this bridge. Police officials have been deployed on both sides to prevent motorists from travelling on the bridge. 

On June 4: A bridge in the middle of the construction in the Bihar Khagaria area collapsed, drawing harsh condemnation against the Bihar government. The 3.16 km-long, four-lane bridge constructed between Sultanganj in Bhagalpur and Aguwani in Khagaria, linked north and south Bihar.

On May 16: An under-construction bridge over the Dumuhni river under the Baisi block of Bihar’s Purnia district collapsed hours after concretisation work on it.

On March 19: Two people were injured after a bridge on the Mahanadi River collapsed in the Saran district.
