Jagran Correspondent, Bihar: The Bihar government is set to launch special pink bus services this month for female students across 211 new government degree colleges. The initiative aims to ensure that distance and transportation barriers do not hinder access to higher education.

Under this scheme, the districts of Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, and Jamui, all falling under the Bhagalpur Transport Division, will be fully connected.

The administrator of the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) has issued strict guidelines to the regional managers of all six transport divisions across the state. The department has directed these managers to coordinate with district administrations and transport officers to jointly identify routes with the highest traffic of female students and working women.
Speaking to Jagran.com, Bhagalpur Regional Manager Amit Kumar noted that the government's primary goal is to promote higher education by providing safe, reliable transportation.
Check Route Allocation
Under this scheme, a total of 14 pink buses will be allocated to the 17 new degree colleges within the Bhagalpur Transport Division. Of the 14 available buses, six buses will operate in the Bhagalpur district and eight in Munger. The service will directly benefit female students and working women travelling to colleges located in Goradih, Pirpainti, Gopalpur, Ismailpur, Kharik, and Rangra Chowk in Bhagalpur.
Additionally, four new colleges, each in Banka and Jamui and three in Munger, have been included in the scheme. These pink buses will run from district headquarters, block headquarters, and major rural hubs to the respective colleges, ensuring female students from remote rural areas face no commuting difficulties.

Route Chart And Fare To Be Announced Shortly
The Transport Corporation is expected to release the final route chart and fare list of all these routes on Wednesday. According to Jagran.com, the minimum fare for these pink buses will be between Rs 8 and Rs 10, providing major relief to female students from low- and middle-income families.
