As many as 103 Naxalites have laid down their weapons in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district as security forces intensify a crackdown to eliminate Naxalism from the country by March 2026.

This marks the largest-ever surrenders so far and a major success. Among these 103 Naxals, 49 carried a collective bounty of Rs 1.06 crore, the Chhattisgarh Police said.

The surrendered Maoists will be rehabilitated under Poona Margem. Taking to X, Chhattisgarh Police said, "The largest surrender so far, 103 Maoists lay down arms."

"Total 103 Maoists with ₹1.06 crore bounty return to mainstream. Roots of Maoist organization shaken — public base continuously eroding. This is not just a surrender, but a decisive defeat of the ideology rooted in violence and illusion," Bijapur Police added.
