West Bengal Elections 2026: In a strategic move to strengthen its position for the upcoming West Bengal elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has begun the process of implementing its "Bihar model". Under the direction of national leadership and led by West Bengal in-charge Mangal Pandey, who also serves as Bihar’s Health and Law Minister, seven experienced Bihar officials have been sent to oversee Bengal’s operations.
The officials have been tasked with critical responsibilities, including scaling the party's organisational base, refining booth-level management, ensuring social demographic balance, and streamlining electoral coordination, Jagran.com reported.

BJP Implements Bihar Model In Bengal, Deploys Five Officials As Lok Sabha In-Charges
The BJP has deployed five party officials from its Bihar unit as Lok Sabha in-charges in West Bengal, signalling a continuation of the party's strategy to assign experienced leaders from organisationally strong states to areas where the party sees potential for expansion and empowerment.
Led by West Bengal in-charge Mangal Pandey, this deployment brings in leaders with extensive experience ranging from divisional to state levels to oversee critical responsibilities such as driving organisational coordination, motivating grassroots workers, and providing real-time ground reports to the central leadership, Jagran.com report added.

According to party sources, the officials sent from Bihar to West Bengal have been tasked with other duties beyond general election management, such as maintaining regular communication with local workers, engaging with various social organisations, and identifying specific voter segments.
They will focus especially on the areas where the party’s popularity has grown, but the organisational structure needs further strengthening.
