Jharkhand News: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday opened the BJP's box of promises to the people of Jharkhand, days ahead of the assembly polls in the predominantly-tribal state. The saffron camp unveiled several guarantees to the people, including Rs 2,100 per month to every woman under the Gogo Didi scheme and two free gas cylinders along with a subsidy on every other cylinder purchase.
Revealing the key poll promises, the Home Minister also announced a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) for Jharkhand, adding that the tribals would not come under its ambit. The BJP had earlier promised a mini NRC in the state to determine the number of Bangladeshis living in the state. The key poll promises in BJP's Jharkhand manifesto also included employment creation, rehabilitation of the people displaced due to development projects and an SIT probe into the rampant paper leaks in the state.
Jharkhand BJP Manifesto: Key Promises
1. Rs 2100 per month to every woman under Gogo Didi Yojana.
2. Tribals are to be kept out of the purview of the Uniform Civil Code.
3. Two free LPG Cylinders in a year, following which Cylinders will be provided at a subsidised Rs 500 per cylinder.
4. Tribal land occupied by infiltrators will be restored to the original owners.
5. Children of infiltrators marrying tribals won’t get tribal status.
6. Recruitment for 2.87 lakh Government posts.
7. Paying tuition fees for private Coaching Centre.
8. Elimination of Naxalism within 2 years.
9. 21 lakh Houses to be built in the next five years with free potable water connection.
10. Rs 2,000 for every youth per month for two years after graduation under the 'Yuva Sathi' scheme.
11. Rs 1 stamp duty on the properties being registered under the name of a woman. (a ceiling of Rs 50 lakh might apply)
12. Free education will be available in government institutions for B.Ed, Nursing and other professional courses. Tuition fees will be waived in private institutions.
13. A Rehabilitation Commission will be formed to ensure rehabilitation before displacement in Jharkhand.
14. The Sidho-Kanho research centre will be established to restore and promote tribal culture.
15. Free education will be provided from KG to PG to the daughters of poor and backward classes under the Phoolo-Jhano Padho Bitiya scheme.
16. Under the Maternity Safety Scheme, every pregnant woman will be provided with 6 nutrition kits and financial assistance of Rs 21,000.
