Former Wrestling Federation of India chairman and ex-Kaiserganj MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh - who was denied a ticket by BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls amid sexual allegation charges - said on Monday that the party won't give him a second chance. He was replying to a question whether he was slated for a bigger role in the party.

Earlier in May, on being asked whether allegations cost him the party's ticket in LS polls, he had responded with "My son has got the ticket." Later, his son Karan Bhushan Sharan Singh won the family bastion of Kaiserganj.

"The BJP will never give me a chance now. I know the party will not give me a chance. I don't dream like Mungerilal. Those who want to, can," Brij Bhushan Singh said during an interaction with reporters in UP's Paraspur today.

Trial Begins Against BJP Strongman

This comes as the court initiated a trial against the heavyweight leader in a case of sexual harassment of multiple women wrestlers. Alleging sexual misconduct and mistreatment, multiple women wrestlers came forward against the long-term WFI chairman. Following a long uproar over the issue, Singh was removed from the post.

Even though various sections of the Indian Penal Code relating to sexual harassment, use of force against a woman and criminal intimidation have been slapped on him, he had pleaded not guilty.

"When I have not committed any mistake, why will I admit it?" he had said.

Today, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh toured his former parliamentary constituency in Gonda district, UP. He stopped in Paraspur, where Samajwadi Party leader Om Prakash Singh was murdered in broad daylight, to meet with the family.

Rahul Gandhi Is Opposing Everything

On the issue of the bulldozer policy, he said that if a house is built on village society land or a road, it can be demolished. There is a process for demolishing houses built in other places. Regarding Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's attacks on the government, the former MP said that he couldn't become the leader of the opposition for two years. If the public gives him a chance, he should perform well. I see that he is not fulfilling his responsibilities properly. He is only opposing everything.
