The election for the Maharashtra Assembly Speaker's post will be held today. This comes a day after the Maha Vikas Aghadi government cleared the floor test. As many as 169 MLAs in the 288-member Assembly voted in its favour, while the BJP's 105 MLAs staged a walkout.

The Congress has announced party MLA Nana Patole as the candidate of the ruling Shiv Sena-Congress-NCP alliance for the election for Maharashtra Assembly Speaker's post, while the BJP named Kisan Kathore as its nominee.

16:52 pm: Telangana: Case registered against Ashish Goud, son of former MLA and BJP leader Nandeshwar Goud, over alleged sexual harassment of a woman model, at a hotel in Madhapur, Hyderabad, today, reports ANI.

15:51 pm: "I had come to meet CM with two requests. I have suggested & requested CM for a separate ministry for specially-abled in Maharashtra," says Supriya Sule after meeting Uddhav Thackeray.

"Also, Aditya Thackeray & I've requested CM to abolish 'Maha Portal' that provides employment opportunities. We've suggested so as there have been many complaints of improper functioning of the portal. We've requested CM to start a better portal to serve youth," she added.
