Breaking News, Latest News, Highlights Of March 25, 2024: The country is celebrating the colourful and joyous festival of Holi today. Holi is one of the most important and widely celebrated Hindu festivals, which marks the end of winter. Meanwhile, several political leaders are organising parties for supporters to woo voters as Lok Sabha elections are just around the corner.  The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also released its fifth candidates list for the Lok Sabha elections, dropping Union Ministers Ashwini Kumar Choubey and VK. Singh, besides MP Varun Gandhi. The saffron party in its surprise list fielded actors Kangana Ranaut and Arun Govil. It has also fielded Sita Soren from Jharkhand’s Dumka. Voting for the Lok Sabha polls will be held in seven phases: April 19, 26, May 7, 13, 20, 25, and June 1. The results for all 543 constituencies will be announced on June 4.  Meanwhile, the central leadership of the Congress summoned party leaders from Goa to Delhi to decide on candidates for the two Lok Sabha seats in the state, a functionary said on Monday. According to the functionary, the party’s central leadership has called Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Amit Patkar and South Goa election coordinator Altone D’Costa. The ruling BJP has already announced its candidates for North Goa (Shripad Naik) and South Goa (Pallavi Dempo) constituencies.  This live blog now stands closed.
