BHARAT Rashtra Samithi (BRS) workers and supporters on Saturday protested against Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay’s alleged ‘derogatory’ remarks against KCR’s daughter and BRS MLC K Kavitha. The protesters also burnt an effigy of Bandi Sanjay. K Kavita appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday in the Delhi liquor policy case.

As per the local media reports, when the Telangana BJP chief was asked if Kavitha will be arrested in connection with the Delhi liquor scam, he responded, "Will they kiss her if not arrest her?". Bandi Sanjay’s remarks were slammed by several BRS leaders and supporters. The women supporters of the party also visited the Begumpet Station House Officer (SHO) in Hyderabad to register a complaint against the remarks made by the state BJP president.

The BRS Party on Saturday took to Twitter showing posters of Bandi Sanjay and said, "Telangana is shocked by Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay's inappropriate comments against MLC Kavitha.”

Following massive outrage by the BRS supporters over remarks against Kavitha, Bandi Sanjay's office issued a statement and said that the BJP leader had used a common Telugu phrase that means, "If someone commits a crime, would you appreciate or punish, as reported by the news agency ANI.

“Some statements made by Bandi Sanjay about 3 days ago are being blown out of proportion. This is a common phrase used in the Telugu language which means if someone does a crime, would you appreciate or punish it,” the office of Telangana BJP president said in a statement.

K Kavitha was summoned by the ED earlier on Wednesday for questioning in connection with its ongoing money laundering investigation in the Delhi Excise Policy case. The Enforcement Directorate has asked the BRS leader to depose before the investigators at ED headquarters in New Delhi and record her statement.

The probe agency is likely to confront Kavitha with her aide and Hyderabad-based businessman Arun Pillai, an alleged frontman of the 'south group', who was arrested by the federal agency on Monday night.
