The driver jumped into action helping the passengers to get off the bus quickly and ensuring no one was injured in the fire. According to the media reports, the engine caught fire due to overheating.
BMTC sources said that the engine caught fire when the driver turned on its ignition on MG road. Prima facie, it seems the engine was heated, according to an NDTV Report.
In another unrelated incident in May this year, at least nine people were killed and several others sustained injuries after the tourist bus they were travelling in caught fire on the Kundali-Manesar-Palwal Expressway near Haryana’s Nuh.
