Delhi Police arrested a man in connection with a hit-and-run case that occurred near the Mahipalpur flyover on Sunday. The accused allegedly ran over a security guard, Rajiv Kumar, when he was walking home after night duty at Delhi Airport's Terminal 3 when a black Mahindra Thar came from behind, honking loudly and ran over the security guard. Police have also seized the vehicle involved in the incident.

The incident occurred after an altercation ensued between the driver and the security guard, who asked him to stop honking and the driver asked for Kumar's baton. When Kumar refused, the driver threatened to run him over.

The driver then hit Kumar with the car, causing him to fall and reversed the vehicle, running over him again. Kumar sustained multiple crushed and fractured injuries to his legs and ankle.

Police reviewed extensive CCTV footage from the area of the crime scene and identified the offending vehicle within six hours. They traced the registered owner and issued a formal notice under Section 133 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Vijay was arrested and the Mahindra Thar was seized during the follow-up investigation.

A case under sections 281/109(1) BNS was registered at Vasant Kunj South police station, and an investigation is ongoing. The incident was captured on CCTV, and the police are working to ensure justice is served.
