A video of a wedding procession setting off firecrackers on a road has gone viral on social media as Delhi-NCR continues to choke on poisonous air due to increasing pollution. The minute-long video, which was taken from a balcony of a Gurgaon resident, depicts the area's pollution with a thick haze hanging in the sky.

A group can be seen setting off a number of firecrackers in the close-up video of what looks to be a baaraat procession on the road. The air is made even more dangerous by the smoke plumes released by the firecrackers that are thrown into the air.

Here's How Netizens Reacted

The video infuriated social media users, who criticised the wedding procession for adding firecracker smoke to the already poisonous air.

"They are celebrating 1000 mark of AQI in Gurgaon. A feat never achieved before by any global city!" said one user in a mocking tone.

Another commented, "It's like celebrating halloween with zombie-themed decorations on house while an actual zombie apocalypse is going on."

Some users claimed that people only wanted to have fun and had given up.

"Nobody is doing anything for pollution. People usually get married once in a lifetime, why would they bother about others? We as a society failed. Now stop the moral policing and let people enjoy the rest of their small life left after inhaling this air," read one comment.
