Months ahead of the Jharkhand Assembly Election, former Chief Minister of the state, Champai Soren, is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Champai is currently a minister in the Hemant Soren-led government in the state. It is being told that Champai is in touch with BJP leaders, reports jagran.com.
There is also a discussion in political circles that former Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MLA Lobin Hembrom may also join the BJP. Several other MLAs of the JMM may also jump from Hemant Soren's ship and join the saffron brigade. For the past few days, the discussion of bringing Champai Soren to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has gained momentum in political circles.
It is being speculated that, along with Champai, more leaders of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) may join the BJP.
After Hemant Soren (CM Hemant Soren) got bail from the Jharkhand High Court in the land scam case, Champai Soren had to resign from the post of Chief Minister of the state. He was made the chief minister soon after Hemant resigned, seeing the political uncertainty in the state. He was the Jharkhand CM for several months until Hemant Soren got bail from the court.
Soon after the bail, Hemant Soren became the Chief Minister again. Champai has been given a ministerial position in the new cabinet (the Hemant Soren Cabinet). But there are talks that Champai has been angry since then and might leave Hemant's camp.
