New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: India’s mission to the moon, Chandrayaan-2, is all set to make its soft-landing on the south polar region of the lunar surface at 1.30-2.30 am IST on September 7, followed by the Rover roll out between 5.30 am and 6.30 am.

A successful landing will make India the fourth country after Russia, the US and China to achieve a soft landing on the moon. But it will be the first to launch a mission to the unexplored lunar south pole.

For those who are interested in witnessing the history, here's how you can watch the live stream of the landing of the moon mission:

The ISRO will telecast the updates on its website, isro.gov.in from its control room at the Satellite Control Centre (SCC) in Bengaluru. For minute-by-minute updates, you can track ISRO’s Twitter handle.  

The soft landing will be telecast live from 1.10 a.m on Doordarshan, webcast on ISRO website and streamed on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

The landing will also be streamed on the press information bureau (PIB) of India’s YouTube channel.

The historic event can also be witnessed live on the National Geographic channel and Hotstar. National Geographic had announced on September 3 that it will also cover the launch. NASA Astronaut Jerry Linegar will join the live event to provide his insights and analysis.

“We have been meticulously planning to bring this historic event to our viewers in an immersive and entertain fashion. Our special live programming on Chandrayaan 2 brings together the very best of National Geographic storytelling and we are thrilled to have NASA veteran Jerry M. Linenger onboard on this quest to understand the mission better,” said a National Geographic spokesperson.

The show will broadcast live on National Geographic and Hotstar on September 6, 2019, at 11.30 pm.
