Chandrayaan-3 successfully underwent another orbit reduction maneuver on Wednesday, going even closer to the Moon's surface. Indian Space Research Organisation informed about it and said that the next operation is scheduled for August 14, 2023, between 11:30 and 12:30 pm.
"Even closer to the moon’s surface. Chandrayaan-3's orbit is reduced to 174 km x 1437 km following a manoeuvre performed today," wrote the space agency in a post. ISRO is performing a series of operations to gradually decrease Chandrayaan-3's orbit and place it over the lunar poles as the mission progresses.
After launching on July 14, India's ambitious third Moon mission spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 entered lunar orbit on August 5.

Earlier on Sunday, the space agency put out the first images of the moon as captured by Chandrayaan-3, India's third lunar mission. Chandrayan-3 captured stunning images of the lunar surface after entering the Moon's orbit on Saturday.
The spacecraft, mounted on GSLV Mark 3 (LVM 3) heavy-lift launch vehicle, successfully lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota on July 14.
