Char Dham Yatra 2025: Helicopter services for the Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand have resumed and are operating smoothly, according to a statement from the state government on Saturday. These services are fully functional from all designated helipads, including the key Sahastradhara helipad in Dehradun, and are facilitating travel to all four shrines—Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. The government said that the helicopter service was closed for some time due to bad weather.

Bansidhar Tiwari, Uttarakhand’s Director General of Information, confirmed to ANI that heli operations are back on track and helping manage the large number of devotees heading to the Dhams.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also reassured pilgrims through a post on X, stating, “Dear devotees, the Char Dham Yatra is being conducted smoothly in the state. So far, over 4 lakh pilgrims have visited the Dhams. Heli services for Shri Kedarnath Dham are also fully operational. Please don’t pay attention to any kind of rumours.”

He added that the state is working tirelessly to ensure a safe and seamless yatra experience. For real-time support and information, devotees can contact the official helpline numbers 1364 and 0135-1364. His post included the hashtag #CharDhamYatra2025 to keep the public informed.

The Chief Minister further highlighted the spiritual significance of the annual pilgrimage, noting that large numbers of devotees arrive in Uttarakhand every year for the yatra. “Our government is continuously working to make the journey safe, smooth, and well-organised,” he said.

The Char Dham Yatra 2025 officially began on April 30 with the opening of the Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines on Akshaya Tritiya, followed by the opening of Kedarnath on May 2 and Badrinath on May 4.

In a related development, a temporary 24-hour ban was imposed earlier this week on the use of horses and mules on the Kedarnath route after several animal deaths were reported. “Eight animals died yesterday and six more today. We are trying to find out the cause. A central team will arrive tomorrow to investigate further,” said BVRC Purushottam, Secretary of Animal Husbandry, Uttarakhand.
