Chennai News: A 30-year-old doctor working at a central government hospital in Chennai died after allegedly jumping from the 12th floor of her sister’s apartment in Perungalathur. Police said the incident took place on Friday evening when her sister was not at home.
According to a DT Next report, the doctor had been married for about ten months to a software engineer from Ramanathapuram district. However, the couple faced frequent disagreements and had been living separately for the last three months. While her husband stayed in his hometown, she continued to stay alone in Chennai.
Investigators said that on Friday, the woman had gone to visit her sister’s residence. Later in the evening, she went upstairs and jumped from the 12th floor. Residents informed the police, who reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem at Chromepet Government Hospital.
The exact reason behind her decision is still unclear. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
