Chennai News: Due to the ongoing extensive maintenance activities on the Chennai Beach-Tambaram-Chengalpattu-Villupuram route several train services have been cancelled, while others have been rerouted. In response to the disruption, special train services have been arranged to meet the demand. As part of these efforts, certain changes have been made to the night train services on the Chennai Beach-Villupuram route for the upcoming days.
Chennai News: Changes to Night Train Services
According to a press release from Southern Railway, the following changes will be in effect on Sunday, August 18:
Cancelled Services
-The electric trains departing from Tambaram at 9:55 pm, 10:10 pm, 10:40 pm, and 11:15 pm towards Chennai Beach will be partially cancelled between Chennai Egmore and Chennai Beach.
-Similarly, the electric trains leaving Chennai Beach at 10:30 pm, 11:00 pm, 11:20 pm, 11:40 pm, and 11:59 pm on August 18, and at 3:55 am on August 19, bound for Tambaram, will be partially cancelled between Chennai Beach and Egmore.
-The electric train from Chengalpattu, departing at 10:10 pm and 11:00 pm towards Chennai Beach, will also be partially cancelled between Egmore and Chennai Beach.

-The electric train departing from Chennai Beach at 10:45 pm to Chengalpattu will be partially cancelled between Chennai Beach and Egmore.
-The electric train departing from Thirumalpur at 8:00 pm towards Chennai Beach will be partially cancelled between Egmore and Chennai Beach.

These modifications are expected to impact commuters, particularly those travelling during the night hours. Passengers are advised to check the updated schedule and plan their journeys accordingly.
