Chennai Power Cut Monday: The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) has announced a planned power outage in the Mangadu, Mogappair and Mathur areas of Chennai on February 3, Monday. This shutdown is necessary for maintenance work and will last from 9 AM to 2 PM. However, power may be restored earlier if the work is completed ahead of schedule.

In separate news, the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) has received approval to launch premium bus services in Chennai. The services, aimed at reducing private vehicle use, will feature buses with GPS, air conditioning, and spacious seating. The MTC will recruit service providers to operate these buses, following a detailed project report identifying profitable routes. The premium services are expected to start by March, with a focus on enhancing comfort for commuters willing to pay higher fares.
