Chennai Power Cut July 23: Electricity supply will be temporarily halted in parts of Chennai on Wednesday, July 23, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM due to scheduled maintenance by the TANGEDCO. However, officials stated that power may be restored earlier if the work is completed ahead of time.

- In Taramani, the areas that will be affected include V.H.S. Hospital, Sardar Patel Road, Sriram Nagar 1 to 4 Streets, Pallipet, Sriram Nagar Main Road and Colony, Pallipat Main Road, Bajanaikoil Street, Yogi Garden, New Street, and Kandasamy Street.

- Meanwhile, in and around Siruseri, power will be suspended in SIPCOT Siruseri, Navalur, Thazhampur, Karanai Village, Egattur, OMR Navalur, Padupakkam, Ezhilmuga Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Olympia, and Santhiya Garden.

Residents in these areas are advised to plan accordingly and stay updated on restoration status.

In separate news, Chennai residents can now enjoy free parking at several designated locations, as the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has temporarily suspended parking charges. The move comes after the civic body’s contract with the Tamil Nadu Ex-Servicemen’s Corporation (TEXCO), which previously managed parking at ten sites, came to an end.

According to a DT Next report, charges will not be collected at popular spots such as Marina Beach service road, NSC Bose Road, Rattan Bazaar, Besant Nagar 6th Avenue, Khadar Nawas Khan Road, GN Chetty Road, Purasawalkam, Anna Nagar II Avenue, Mylapore Tank, and McNichols Road.

The GCC clarified that this arrangement will continue until a new agency is appointed to take over parking operations. The public has also been encouraged to call the helpline 1913 to report any unauthorised fee collection. Earlier, several complaints had surfaced accusing TEXCO of charging fees even after their contract expired.
