Chennai Traffic Advisory: Chennai traffic authorities have announced extensive traffic modifications ahead of the Tirupati Thirukudai road walk procession scheduled for Wednesday, anticipating large crowds of devotees across the city. The city police have planned the diversions to ensure smooth vehicular movement and reduce congestion during the event, urging motorists to follow alternate routes and cooperate with traffic personnel.
Chennai Traffic Advisory: Alternative Routes
-From 8 AM, vehicles will not be allowed on NSC Bose Road, Mint Road and all connecting streets until the procession crosses Wall Tax Road.
Alternative Route: Commuters are advised to use EVR Salai, Rajaji Salai, Wall Tax Road, Basin Bridge Road and Prakasam Salai as alternate routes.

Later in the day, from 3 PM, Wall Tax Road and its adjoining roads will be closed to traffic until the procession passes the Elephant Gate Bridge.
Alternative Route: Alternative paths include Basin Bridge Road, Mint via Prakasam Salai, Rajaji Salai, EVR Salai, Muthuswamy Road and Rajaji Road.
Chennai Traffic Advisory: Diversions
Additional point-specific diversions will be enforced as the procession moves through key locations:
Demelows Point: Vehicles from Choolai Roundabout will be redirected to Choolai High Road and Raja Muthiah Salai.
Choolai Roundana: Traffic from Mosque Point will be diverted via V.H. Road and Sydenhams Road junction towards Vepery High Road.
Choolai High Road: Vehicles from Narayana Guru Salai will be rerouted at Hunters Road junction to EVK Sampath Road.
Avadhana Papiya Road: Vehicles from AP Road and PB Road junction will head towards Doveton.
Perambur Barracks Road: Traffic from Doveton Junction will be diverted to Narayana Guru Salai.
Ottery Bridge: Vehicles from Millers Road and Bricklin Road junction will move towards Purasawalkam High Road.
Konnur One Point: Diversions will be in effect from Otteri Bridge to Cooks Road, from ICF Junction to New Avadi Road, and from MVT Road & V.P. Colony Junction to V.P. Colony (South).
Authorities have urged all commuters, especially daily office-goers and public transport users, to plan their travel in advance, allow extra time and follow the instructions of traffic personnel to avoid delays.
