Chennai Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rainfall alert, forecasting light to moderate showers across Chennai on Wednesday, December 10. The city has experienced heavy rainfall in recent days due to the impact of Cyclone Ditwah. The IMD also warned of isolated light to moderate rain over Tamil Nadu, as well as Puducherry and Karaikal. Chennai’s minimum temperature is expected to hover around 24 Degree Celsius, remaining largely unchanged from today.
A cyclonic storm with wind speeds of 35–45 kmph, occasionally gusting up to 55 kmph, is expected along the Tamil Nadu coast, particularly over the Gulf of Mannar and the Kumarikadal region. Similar wind conditions are likely on December 11 and 12, with winds blowing at 35-45 kmph and intermittently reaching 55 kmph in these areas.

In Chennai, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 30 Degree Celsius, while the minimum will fall to 24 Degree Celsius. Tomorrow, the city is likely to experience generally cloudy skies with light rain.

The cyclone in the Bay of Bengal is expected to generate winds of 35-45 kmph, with occasional gusts reaching 55 kmph in the southwest Bay of Bengal. No warnings have been issued for the Arabian Sea today. Tomorrow, similar wind speeds of 35-45 kmph, intermittently rising to 55 kmph, are likely in the Maldives region near the Kumarikadal area. Fishermen have been advised to avoid these regions on the specified days.
