Police Arrest 65-Year-Old Accused

The 65-year-old accused was arrested and sent to judicial custody. In this sensitive and challenging case, the police established a camp in the village to continuously gather evidence and, based on a scientific and psychological investigation, were successful in nabbing the accused.

The Victim Recently Lost Her Husband

On July 16, 2026, a woman from Chhaparpani village filed a report with the Lalunga police station stating that her 35-year-old cousin, whose mental state had been unstable since the death of her husband, was living with her 10-month-old daughter in a house located in the farm of Prahlad Behera of the village. The woman was found seriously injured that morning, while her 10-month-old daughter had died at the scene. The woman's head and face bore severe injuries from a heavy object. She also died during treatment.

How Police Solved The Case

Upon receiving the information, SDOP Dharamjaigarh Siddhant Tiwari, the Lalunga police station, the FSL, and the dog squad arrived at the scene and conducted a thorough inspection of the scene and collected crucial physical evidence. A case was registered against unknown persons at Lalunga police station under Section 103(1) of the Indian Penal Code, and an investigation was initiated. The investigation was extremely challenging due to the deserted scene, the lack of eyewitnesses, and the woman's alleged involvement with anyone.
