The Supreme Court has undergone a significant transformation under the leadership of Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice BR Gavai. The new logo introduced by the previous CJI has been scrapped, and the old logo has been restored. Additionally, the glass doors installed in the corridors to regulate temperature will be removed.
This move marks a return to the institution's traditional form, addressing concerns raised by the Supreme Court Lawyers Association. The Association had objected to the logo change and the installation of glass doors, arguing that it altered the court's fundamental character.
CJI Gavai's decision appears to be influenced by the Bar Association's objections. On May 23, during a court hearing, the CJI announced plans to remove the glass doors and walls, restoring the court's original form. With the removal of the glass doors, the corridor will revert to its non-air-conditioned state.

CJI Chandrachud Had Introduced Changes
The Supreme Court has restored its traditional logo, removing the new design introduced by former Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice DY Chandrachud on the occasion of the court's 75th anniversary last September. The new logo, featuring the Ashoka Chakra, the Supreme Court building, and the Constitution of India, along with the motto "Yato Dharmastato Jai:" (Where there is Dharma, there is victory), has been taken down from the Supreme Court website.
Significantly, "Yato Dharmastato Jai:" was already part of the old logo, and the Supreme Court's traditional emblem has now been reinstated.
