CJP Protest: At least 130 police personnel and about 65 students have been injured in the ongoing protest by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar, reported the news agency ANI, citing the police sources. As per the reports, around 10,000 people are present at the protest site on average, and 3,000 police personnel have been deployed to maintain the law and order.
'15 FIRs Registered'
The sources also disclosed that Delhi Police is identifying the anti-social elements coming to Jantar Mantar with the help of Facial Recognition System (FRS) cameras. "130 Police personnel have been injured. 15 FIRs have been registered. About 65 students were injured in the protest. Around 10,000 people on average are present at and around Jantar Mantar, 3000 Police personnel deployed there," the Delhi Police sources were quoted as saying by ANI.

They further stated that the police have identified over 2000 people with criminal records who visited the Jantar Mantar to participate in the protest. "Police have identified more than 2000 such people so far who have had criminal records and came to Jantar Mantar," they added.
Oppn Claims Police Brutality
The opposition leaders, especially Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, have accused the Delhi police of using excessive force against the students on Monday. However, the Delhi Police denied such claims and stated that strict actions were taken against the officials using force against the students.
Earlier on Friday, the Supreme Court agreed to hear the pleas alleging the excessive use of force against the protesting students in Delhi. The top court has listed the matter for hearing on Monday after the senior advocate Gopal Sankaranarayanan discussed the issue with Chief Justice of India Surya Kant.

Sankaranarayanan, while mentioning the urgency, stated that two petitions alleging the brutal action by Delhi police have now been formally filed.
