Six people, including TDP MP Dutta Mahesh Kumar, tested positive for drugs during a raid conducted by the Telangana police on Saturday night. The raid was carried out on former BRS MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy at his farmhouse in Moinabad. The drug party was allegedly attended by influential people such as businessmen, politicians, and many others.

The Telangana Police's Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) reportedly carried out a surprise raid on the ex-MLA's posh farmhouse in the Rangareddy district. The team was initially restricted from entering the property by the security. After entering the farmhouse, the team recovered about two grams of cocaine.

Following this, the EAGLE conducted an on-the-spot narcotics screening test on the people. Among the 10 people, five of them tested positive. The people who tested positive are Rohit Reddy, Namit Mishra, Kausik Ravi, Arjun Reddy, and Ritesh Reddy, TOI reported.

The high-profile raid also witnessed some gunshots. Namit Sharma, a Delhi-based businessman, fired a round from his pistol upon the police's arrival. The weapon belongs to Ritesh Reddy, who is the younger brother of Rohit Reddy. The gun is obtained with an official license, the police said.

The police had to transfer the case to the local authorities, as the quantity of drugs falls under "small quantity" under narcotic laws.

The Moinabad farmhouse had been raided earlier as well. In 2022, police raided the property after receiving a complaint by Rohit Reddy and arrested three people in a cash-for-defection attempt involving ruling BRS legislators. Another case from the same property has raised immense suspicion among the police. The team is thoroughly investigating the case.
