Bihar Assembly Election Results 2025: After receiving a routing defeat at the hands of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Congress, the second largest alliance in the Mahagathbandhan, blamed the 'vote chori' for the debacle. "Without doubt, election results in Bihar reflect 'vote chori' on a gigantic scale masterminded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Election Commision of India (ECI)," alleged the grand old party.

'Election Was Not Fair From The Very Beginning: Rahul

"I express my heartfelt gratitude to those millions of voters in Bihar who expressed their trust in the Mahagathbandhan. This result in Bihar is truly surprising. We could not achieve victory in an election that was not fair from the very beginning. This fight is for the protection of the Constitution and democracy. The Congress Party and the INDIA alliance will deeply review this result and make their efforts to save democracy even more effective," Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who led 'Voter Adhikar Raily' in Bihar, tweeted.

Congress Wins 6 Of 61 Seats It Contested

The Congress won only six of the 61 seats it contested in the Bihar Assembly elections. Its state unit president Rajesh Kumar lost from the Kutumba seat, legislature party leader in the outgoing assembly, Shakeel Ahmed Khan, was defeated by JD-U candidate Dulal Chandra Goswami from the Kadwa seat by a margin of 18,368 votes.

The six Congress candidates who won are Surendra Prasad (Valmiki Nagar), Abhisekh Ranjan (Chanpatia), Manoj Bishwas (Forbesganj), Abidur Rehman (Araria), Mohd. Qamrul Hoda (Kishanganj) and Manohar Prasad Singh (Manihari). 

Meanwile, the Election Commission of India announced the results of the Bihar Assembly election 2025 on Friday. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) swept the Bihar polls, surging ahead in close to 202 out of the total 243 seats, with the BJP emerging as the single largest party with nearly 95 per cent strike rate, bagging 90 seats. The Mahagathbandhan, which includes the RJD, the Congress and three Left parties, was struggling to cross the 35-seat mark.
