Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will be temporarily paused from February 36 to March 1 as announced by Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh on Wednesday to accommodate Rahul Gandhi’s presence in essential election-related discussions in Delhi.

Ramesh highlighted the necessity for Rahul Gandhi's attendance at crucial meetings regarding the upcoming elections in Delhi, prompting the break in the Yatra schedule. He confirmed that the Yatra will recommence on March 2 following the hiatus.

"There will be a break from February 26 to March 1 as there are many important meetings regarding elections in Delhi and it is necessary for Rahul Gandhi to be present there," Jairam Ramesh said while speaking to ANI in Lucknow on Wednesday.

During the pause, Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to deliver two lectures at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom on February 27-28. The Yatra will resume its journey on March 2, with Rahul Gandhi's visit to the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain slated for March 5.

Ramesh took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of misleading the nation with the concept of 'Amrit Kaal'. He criticised the government's handling of issues such as unemployment, labeling the past decade as 'Anyay Kaal' (an era of injustice), citing widespread youth suicides.

"The real issue is that the PM is misleading the country in the name of 'Amrit Kaal. We are saying that the last 10 years are of 'Anyay Kaal'. Thousands of youth are committing suicide due to unemployment. PM says 'Modi ki guarantee'. Par jab Modi ki warranty khatam hoti hai toh Modi ki guarantee ki kya baat hai (That the Modi's warranty is expiring what is the use of Modi's guarantee)," the Congress leader said.

The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which marked its 39th day on Wednesday, is currently stationed in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is set to join the yatra from Moradabad on February 24. However, the participation of potential ally and Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav remains uncertain due to ongoing discussions regarding seat-sharing.
